What to expect when using the program
Sensation - In the first 8-10 weeks you may experience a tingling sensation in the skin; this is caused by the Glycolic Acid or the Retinyl Palmitate. It will soon wear off.
Skin shedding and dryness - The Day Cream helps the natural exfoliation of the skin and in the first weeks you may find there is a sensation of tightness and dryness. However this is only a sensation, therefore do not be alarmed. This shed skin is replaced by fresh new skin cells of a better texture and colour.
Skin colour - With increased renewal activity there is an increased blood supply to the skin giving it a light pink youthful glow.
Sunlight - In the first three months of use your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. The Day (Morning) Cream consists of sunscreen (SPF 15) however apply extra sunscreen (SPF 30+) if you will be spending time in the sun.
How long do I need to use the program?
To secure optimum improvement, the system has to be followed strictly for approximately 12 months. You may go on a maintenance program three times a week or continue with the program indefinitely.
When can I start to see results?
When instructions are carried out scrupulously, you can expect the following:
Mayerling® Face Creams Forte. An obvious improvement is noticed towards the end of the second week. The skin appears lighter, softer and more even. Over the following weeks and months the skin becomes progressively lighter, smoother, clearer and softer. Pores and fine fixed wrinkle lines appear finer. Optimum result is attained from 9 to 15 months averaging at twelve months.
The end result is a fresh, smooth, light, even, clear skin with a vibrant youthful glow with a significant reduction of fine wrinkles and pigments and loss of scaly and brown patches.
I have sensitive skin can I use the creams?
Yes, Mayerling® has been specifically designed for all skin types including people with sensitive skin.

How much cream should I use on my face?
Layering the skin thickly with cream will not 'make the cream work faster'. On fresh clean skin, place enough cream to cover your skin.
Is there a sunscreen in the creams?
Yes, there is factor 15+ in the Day Cream however if staying out in the sun for a prolonged period of time factor 30+ should be applied every two hours.
Why do we use airless pumps?
The airless pumps do not allow the creams to oxidate and preserves the key ingredients at their optimum level.
What are the possible complications?
As this is a topical system, the risk of complications is minimal. Very rarely there may be a reaction to Retinyl Palmitate; this is resolved when its use is discontinued.
Can I develop pimples with this program?
A few people do develop some active acne spots when using the creams. However this is only in the first 6-10 weeks. It is due to the initial rapid shedding of the top layer of skin cells which occasionally blocks the opening of the underlying glands and usually clears after 6-10 weeks.

Very Dark Pigmentation
Mayerling® Creams are ineffective against Nevi of Ota or Ito - very dark pigmentation spots.
Nevus of Ota most frequently presents as blue-to-gray speckled or mottled patches affecting the forehead, temple, malar area, or periorbital skin. Nevus of Ito presents as a patch on the shoulder or upper arms with blue, gray, or brown pigmentation.
The cause of nevi of Ota and Ito is unknown.
Nevi of Ota and Ito occur most frequently in Asian populations. Other ethnic groups with increased prevalence include Africans, African Americans, and East Indians. Nevi of Ota and Ito both are uncommon in Caucasians.

Can I use the program if I have pimples?
Yes, people with pimples or acne scarring may certainly go on this program. If you have severe active acne you should consult a skin specialist.
How long can these creams last?
The creams have a shelf life of 3 years.
Sun protection - How useful is it?
The sun is responsible for premature aging. It hastens wrinkling and tanning of your skin, as well as causes the appearance of blotchy brownish discoloration. Is it safe to use Mayerling® during pregnancy?
Mayerling® products are safe and do not have any side effects. The products do not contain Retin A and are therefore safe for pregnant women. Retin A has been shown to cause foetal malformations in high doses in pregnant rats in experiments. Mayerling® products do not have Retin A but contain Retinyl Palmitate which is a variant form of Vitamin A. Retinyl Palmitate works as effectively as Retin A, but does not have any untoward side effects on the pregnant.
